Orange and Lemon Cordial

This cordial can be bottled and stored in a cool dark place. Just add water and ice.


3 oranges
3 lemons
1 tbs tartaric acid
2 tsp citric acid
2 tsp epsom salt
1 1/2 kg sugar
1 1/2 L boiling water


  1. Grate rind of oranges and lemons.
  2. Juice fruit and mix with grated rinds.
  3. Stir in tartaric and citric acids, epsom salts and sugar.
  4. Pour over boiling water and stir until sugar dissolves.
  5. Bottle and seal for use as a cordial base.

recipe notes

For a tropical cordial, one passionfruit pulp can be added to each bottle.
